Neale-Wade Academy’s Hospitality and Catering department donned their chefs hats to welcome the visit of Petty Officer Gavin Brown from the Royal Navy.
Gavin spent the day with students on Tuesday November 3, with his demonstration lessons with Mrs Knott’s Yr 10 students covering healthy eating and the importance of nutrients.
Students were also shown Royal Navy survival packs and learned about job opportunities within the Navy and how PO Brown’s career pathway led him to being a chef.
He told the students about life on Navy vessels and the countries he had visited, with the Yr 11 students later working alongside PO Brown to make a healthy curry dish.
