A Manea based friendly society has presented cheques totalling £1,400 to two national charities.
The Fenland District Lodge of the Oddfellows presented two cheques of £700 each to the Cats Protection and the Macmillan Nurses.
The lodge is part of a national group that celebrates more than 200 years of making friends and helping people.
It is a mutual, not for profit friendly society, with the aim of ensuring that its 280,000 members, across 146 Branches, join together to enjoy the social side of life, as well as providing care advice and support in times of need.
The Manea branch is among many around the world.
The society is one of the largest branch-based friendly societies with a growing international membership and many branches abroad including those in Bermuda, South Africa and New Zealand to name just a few.
