Crews from Wisbech, March and Dogsthorpe were called to an animal rescue off the A47 in Guyhirn.
A horse was stuck in a river in about 5ft of water located near the junction with the A141 at around 2.42pm on Thursday.
Specially trained in-water firefighters used animal rescue equipment to safely rescue the large pony. They returned to station by 5.55pm.
