Vital repair work is to begin on Leonard Childs Bridge, which has become badly damaged and rutted.
Cambridgeshire County Council is to close the bridge between Chatteris and Doddington and begin repair work on Monday February 29, followed by resurfacing a week later. The work is due to take three weeks to complete.
For the first three weeks of the works, the road will be closed from the Chatteris side of the bridge, but vehicles will be able to access the 40ft road to Ramsey from Doddington.
A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesman said: “The closure is necessary to make sure the works are carried out as quickly and safely as possible.”
