The body of Stephen Muncaster, 47, who worked as a builder, was found in the front garden of the property in Wiggenhall St Mary Magadalen in the early hours of July 12 and his wife Allison, 48, was found inside the house.
Both had to be identified by DNA evidence by forensic officers instructed by the Norfolk Police Major Investigations Team, assistant coroner Johanna Thompson told an inquest at Norfolk Coroner’s Court in Norwich.
“Mrs Muncaster was found at her home property by police, having suffered what appeared to be a gunshot injury to the head,” said Ms Thompson.
“A post-mortem report confirmed the cause as being due to a shotgun wound to the head.

She added that a post-mortem report confirmed that as the cause of his death.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Mr Muncaster was the uncle of so-called “Lotto lout” Michael Carroll, who hit the headlines in 2002 when he won £9.7 million in the National Lottery. The former binman blew all of his winnings before taking a job in a biscuit factory.
Ms Thompson adjourned both hearings for a full inquest on January 5, 2017 at Norfolk Coroner’s Court.
