Rapper Honey G, who shot to fame on the most recent series of The X Factor, recorded a safety message for Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service.
In the short clip the artist wishes viewers a Happy New Year before urging them to check their smoke alarms.
“Yo yo yo, we’ve recruited Honey G to spread the word about checking smoke alarms. Make it your New Year’s resolution,” was posted on Cambs Fire’s Facebook page along with the video.
Hayley Douglas, head of media and communications at CFRS, said: “We’ve covered off many safety messages and hope that we’ve helped spread a little festive cheer as well as help keep people safe over the festive period.”
