Expect candlelight, sacred music and tranquillity when Candlemas returns to Ely Cathedral on February 2.
After last year’s sell-out event, “experience a medieval style Candlemas with over 5,000 candles illuminating the interior of this magnificent building,” say organisers.
“The cathedral’s mighty organ will play music by Bach, Dubois and Gawthorpe. The cathedral choir will sing works of sacred choral music by Dove, Dupré, Holst, Lassus, Pisaro, Tallis, Whitacre and Wood as well as the world premiere of a new composition by David Bednall.”
Candlemas takes place in the choir and presbytery.
Tickets; £15-25, available from www.tickets.elycathedral.org
Starts 7.30pm.
