A mile challenge saw 1,100 students from Cromwell Community College take part in a walk in support of Sport Relief 2018.

Inspired by challenges by celebrities, students walked, ran and jogged covering a distance of a mile to raise £1,000.

In addition 6th form students organised a football game against staff, and sold specially made sports relief cakes.

Mr Suckling, head of PE, and Mrs Allen, charity coordinator, said: “It’s so exciting to be involved in this year’s Sport Relief campaign and a fantastic opportunity for the children and staff to get active and raise money for such a brilliant cause.

“It’s always a fun way of bringing the whole school together to help make a difference and change lives.”

All proceeds will go to Sport Relief to help vulnerable people, across the UK and the world to live happier, healthier and safer lives.

This year, Sport Relief is encouraging the nation to take on a challenge, aiming to beat a target of one billion steps a day, every day.
