They had done what St George’s parish church described as “an outstanding job” to make red poppies from plastic bottles.
These formed a truly inspirational display along the front railing among other places and created powerful testimony to Armistice Day preparations and commemoration.
Other poignant echoes of remembrance were provided by a silhouette cut from steel at Anvil Cottage Crafts by Stuart Palmer.
And Painted Rocks were busy in the village scattering rocks around the community.

It created a stunning backdrop, too, as the village gathered today at the church for the annual service of remembrance.
The parade left Ponts Hill before arriving at St George’s for the service and afterwards wreaths were laid at the war memorial.
The work by The Port youth club has been carried on for several years as they prepared for Remembrance Day.
They set themselves the challenge of painting dozens of poppy rocks and the bottom of recycled pop bottles to create a wreath and a poignant display to honour the centenary of the first Armistice Day.

Children from Littleport’s scouting and guiding groups have also painted dozens more rocks with the names of fallen soldiers which lined the walk up to the church on Sunday.
In addition, one of The Port’s youths Harvey, drew an image of a lone soldier with his gun which has been cut out in steel by Anvil Cottage Crafts/Fenland Spirit Services of Littleport.
The metal silhouette was then handed back to the youth group where Charlie and Morgan from the group painted him.
A small group of children met on Friday to help install the display at St. George’s church, Littleport.
