Police are appealing for witnesses after a single-vehicle collision on the A14 in which two people were taken to hospital. The incident happened at 11.11am today (11 September) between the Spittals interchange and the A1 westbound at Alconbury. Police attended the scene, along with paramedics and fire crews. The vehicle involved, a silver Peugeot 206, left the road and two passengers of the car had to be cut free by firefighters. Their injuries are not thought to be serious, but both passengers were taken to Peterborough City Hospital as a precaution. One lane of the A14 was closed while the vehicle was recovered. PC Gary Blane said: “The road was busy at the time of the collision and we’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw the vehicle before it left the carriageway.” Anyone with information should call 101 and ask to speak to PC Blane quoting CC-11092018-0167.
