THE public was today invited to turn detective to help track two motorists who drove off from Wisbech petrol stations without paying.
Police would like to speak to the man in the first image in relation to the theft of 79.61 worth of fuel from TCS in Biggs Road, Wisbech, at approximately 5pm on Tuesday February 3. A female and child were passengers in the vehicle at the time.
The second image relates to a man wanted for questioning in relation to the theft of 87 worth of fuel from Rainbow Express petrol station in Elm High Road, Wisbech, at approximately 2.30pm on Friday February 6.
Terrington Safer Neighbourhood Team has been working with petrol retailers and the British Oil Securities Syndicate (BOSS) to tackle fuel thefts, known as 'bilkings', in the area.
Police and petrol station staff work more closely to prevent drive-offs and to detect those that occur. Reports of bilkings have fallen by 25% since the Forecourt Watch campaign was launched in September.
If you have any information about the men or vehicles seen in these images contact PC Sue Newns at Terrington Safer Neighbourhood Team (white van) or PC Michael Edwards at Downham Market Safer Neighbourhood Team (pick-up truck) on 0845 456 4567.
