AN Elgood's pub in Wisbech has been chosen to launch a new scheme which promotes pubs that sell locally-brewed cask ale.
Peterborough Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) chose the Elgood's pub - Three Tuns in Wisbech, to launch the LocAle scheme.
The scheme builds on the growing consumer demands for quality local produce and increase the awareness of green issues.
Local pub licensees attended an event last week to receive their certificates and record their pubs endorsement of the scheme.
Terry Stork, trade director at Elgood's, said: "In this recessionary period I am pleased that Elgood's have been picked out by CAMRA as the local brewer.
"Hopefully this will increase the presence not only in our own pubs but in free trade pubs in the area.
