A MAN who killed some pet rabbits and a goldfinch was jailed for 12 weeks by Fenland magistrates.
Scott Clark, 28, of Elizabeth Terrace, Wisbech, killed between six and eight rabbits and the bird belonging to Gemma King on March 9.
He had admitted destroying the animals, and sending a text message to Gemma King that was indecent or grossly offensive, for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety.
Solicitor Roger Glazebrook said Scott had bred rabbits in the past, and knew how to kill the rabbits quickly; they were killed outright and not left injured.
"He has apologised to Gemma on a number of occasions," he added. "There was no real suffering; the animals were killed in a quick way.
