DESPITE a foggy start to the day Wisbech St Mary Village and Country Fayre received its best ever attendance.

There was a host of attractions at the event on Sunday - which was presented by Radio Cambridgeshire's Johnny Dee.

There were several new attractions this year including motor cycle stunt riding by Jez Avery and also sheep racing.

A wide range of entertainment was available during the day including a display from Ye Olde Red Tailed Falconry, a dog agility display, an aerobatic display by Yak 52, fairground rides and a parachute drop by 'Ted Devil' - and the teddy bear entry from Wisbech St Mary School won the contest.

Fenland Model Flying Club showed visitors how to fly planes and gave a ringside show involving a large jet plane.

Trade stands and local crafts along with a variety of food and drinks were also available.

All funds that were raised on the day will go towards improving local amenities in the village.

The winner of the scarecrow contest was "Where's the mole" with second prize going to "Barbara Cartland."

More information including a list of winners will be available on the www.wsmcommunity.com.
