FOOD students from Wisbech Grammar School rose to the challenge when they teamed up with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay at the Good Food Show.
The youngsters, who are studying food and nutrition at A Level, were invited to take part in a series of culinary master classes at Gordon Ramsay's stand at the show in the NEC, Birmingham.
Teacher Alison Sloan and four of her students spend five days at the show and for three days worked with the famous chef at his professional stand. There were six live demonstrations using his new range of cooking equipment in front of audiences of between 500 and 600 people.
The Wisbech team worked flat out, completing 11 hours a day of cleaning and preparation. They served up a tasty mix of lamb burgers, hummus, seared salmon and celeriac coleslaw.
Mrs Sloan said: "He was lovely. We made him cups of tea and he was really charming, very down to earth and very friendly."
One of the high-lights for the students was being taken into the green room by Gordon Ramsay and being introduced to chefs James Martin, the Hairy Bikers, John Torode and Greg Wallace.
