FRIDAY BRIDGE Community Primary School is a good school in which pupils enjoy learning and make good progress.
Inspectors visiting the school also praised the curriculum which ensures that the quality of teaching is good.
The village school with just 101 pupils taught in four mixed-age classes was found to be good (Grade 2) in its overall effectiveness and in its capacity for sustained improvement.
Inspectors from The Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) who visited the school in November last year found children make good all round progress and excellent progress in their emotional development.
Inspectors noted that the school is keenly aware that there is a need to increase the proportion of children gaining the National Curriculum levels at the end of Year 2 and Year 6, particularly in writing which is weaker than reading.
Head teacher Jayne Williams said: "We feel very proud that the report recognises the achievements and efforts of the whole school community - pupils, parents, staff and governors.
