A WISBECH man was today sentenced to five years in jail at Cambridge Crown Court today after being found guilty of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Thomas Loveridge, 40, of Golding Place, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was found guilty of possessing cocaine with an estimated street value of 14,000 after a six-day trial at Cambridge Crown Court last month.
Loveridge was arrested and charged after a police search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act was carried out at an address in Moneybank Road, Wisbech on March 5 last year. Just over 280g of cocaine was discovered at the address.
Det Con Simon Albrow said: "This is a great result for police and the local community because 14,000 worth of cocaine has been removed from the streets.
"We are pleased with the decision of the court. It sends a strong message that drug dealing will not be tolerated in our county.
