WISBECH Town’s memorable season received a further boost on Saturday after Premier Foods donated 1,000 to the club.
Staff from the UK’s largest food provider’s factory in Wisbech presented the cheque before the Fenmen’s final Ridgeons Premier Division game of the season against Wivenhoe Town on Saturday.
In turn they were presented with a signed match ball for sponsoring the game.
John Petch, club vice president, said: “The donation was very much appreciated by all of us at the club.
“Money like that is vital for Wisbech Town FC so we can’t thank them enough for their generosity.”
Steve Appleby’s side beat Wivenhoe 2-1 to secure a fourth-placed finish in the league before beating Wroxham 1-0 to clinch the Ridgeons League Challenge Cup on Monday.
