A FENLAND bowls club held their fifth 24-hour charity event to raise money for Addenbrooke’s Hospital’s Zipper Club.
CMB Bowls Club from Wisbech completed 275 ends to raise funds for the group named for people who have had open heart surgery. The name was chosen because of the scar left from the operation.
A total of 24 players took part in the bowls drive and played in fancy dress. People’s chosen characters had to begin with the first initial of their christian name.
Characters included a vicar, Winston Churchill and Batman but Andy McEwan was judged to be the best dressed as an angel and received a bottle of wine.
CMB has already raised a total of 5050 for the Zipper Club. Money raised from this event will be presented at a later date once it has all been collected.
