WISBECH’S new mayor was on hand as some of the town’s school children performed Molly Dancing at Centenary Green on Monday.
Year 6 pupils from St Peter’s Church of England Junior School, dressed in colourful clothes, demonstrated their nifty footwork to Mayor of Wisbech Councillor Samantha Hoy, who replaced Councillor Vivien MacRae as mayor.
The children do a project every year where they are taught the history of the traditional Fenland dance, which they then learn and perform to the parents.
