The Waterlees in Bloom group held a litter pick on Monday, inviting residents to join them as a way of encouraging community involvement and keeping the area clean.
Having started at the Oasis Community Centre, St. Michael’s Avenue, by the end of the day 13 black bags had been filled with rubbish by 14 people.
Chris Stevens, Oasis Community Centre manager, said: “The litter pick went very well. “As part of Waterlees In Bloom’s monthly projects we linked up with Circle Housing Roddons to do an action day.
“Between 14 people – volunteers, Oasis members and Circle staff – we filled 13 black bags with litter.”
The next litter pick takes place on February 18 from 10am until midday.
Then on March 4 the Oasis will take part in the national Clean For The Queen weekend.
