WITNESSES are being sought to a burglary at Elm when a house being renovated was ransacked and large quantities of tools and materials stolen.
It happened between January 11 and January 21 at a house on Outwell Road.
A police spokesman said: "The property is currently being renovated by builders and they left unexpectedly to complete an urgent job in London. They returned to discover a large amount of items missing including tools, building materials and personal possessions."
Items stolen include paint, boxes of laminated flooring, 40 lengths of copper tubing, a concrete mixer, various DVDs and CDs, a hi-fi stereo, four drills, four saws, a spirit level, ladder, disc cutter, wheelbarrow and a freezer.
The thieves got in either through the rear patio doors or a side window in the garage.
Dc Lucie Spriggs said: "This property is currently under renovation and it is possible passers-by may have thought such vehicles were carrying out their work.
"I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen items being loaded into a vehicle. Also, anyone who has been offered building materials, tools or similar items for sale."
