A UNIQUE service is being offered in Wisbech allowing patients to be treated by senior eye surgeons closer to home.
Consultant ophthalmic surgeons Neil Johnson from Fakenham, and Cliff Jakeman from Wisbech, have left Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn to set up practice in a GP surgery in Wisbech.
Mr Johnson, who was senior consultant at the Queen Elizabeth, left on Friday after 15 years at the hospital. Mr Jakeman had worked there for 13 years.
They will see patients at their new Wisbech base at the town's Trinity Surgery and carry out cataract and glaucoma procedures at the North Cambs Hospital.
