The hazards of playing near electricity sub-stations and overhead power lines were highlighted to school pupils in a hard-hitting safety workshop.
Youngsters from Ramnoth Junior School, Wisbech, were shown a video about a young boy who was fatally injured after ignoring warning signs and entering a sub-station.
They were also taught about how high voltage electricity can jump gaps and be conducted through anything, including fishing rods and kites, with tragic consequences.
It was part of a programme of workshops organised by EDF Energy to raise awareness of the potential dangers of electricity.
Clare Bacon, EDF Energy's education adviser, said: "The interactive nature of the workshops ensures the children understand the potential consequences of playing with electricity. They really benefit from the session and learn valuable safety lessons which will last them a lifetime.
