RESCUE dogs are now settling into their new homes after a special open day at a March pet shop.
Five dogs cared for by Mary Higgins appeared at The Pet Shop in Station Road on Saturday in a bid to be re-homed.
She managed to find new owners for 10 of the 40 dogs she cares for at her home in Gorefield.
"We're really pleased that so many dogs were found new homes," said Rob Phipps, the owner of The Pet Shop, in Station Road.
"The amount of interest generated was better than we could have hoped for.
"Thanks to everyone who helped with the event, and to March Dog Club for their support."
Mary takes in any breed of dog which cannot be cared for by their owner any more.
She makes sure they are neutered, vaccinated and house trained before re-homing them.
