SIXTH form students from schools across the Fens are among the many people at tonight's count in NE Cambs.

The youngsters, including many from Spalding Grammar School, are from the Conservative Future Group, a youth club for up-and-coming Tories.

Editor John Elworthy, at the count at the Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech, said: "They have been busy helping the Conservative campaign in the Fens and Steve Barclay (Conservative candidate) insisted they should be here at the count as a sort of reward for their efforts.

"They are buzzing around everywhere, analysing all the TV results and commentary and keeping us abreast of what's happening."
