POLICE are appealing for information after a digger worth £10,000 was stolen by a man posing as someone from a hire company in Upwell on Sunday, January 14th.
The offender, travelling in a dark blue 4X4, attended a site in Dovecote Road between 10am and 11am and claimed to be collecting the orange Kuboka rear-digger on behalf of the hire company. Instead the vehicle was hot-wired and stolen, being taken away on a low loader.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the theft or with knowledge of such a digger recently acquired to contact PC Jamie Ward at Terrington Beat Base on 0845 456 4567.
