FURTHER to Mr Simpson's letter highlighting the current problems at the South Brink/Town Bridge junction, I also question the wisdom of the county highways department in making such unnecessary attractions and to do it without advance warning signs is gross negligence. For many years, traffic has flowed over this junction without any problems or accidents.
Once again it would appear that those distant officials, having little knowledge of Wisbech, have created yet another hazard for its highway users to circumvent. It is little wonder that many cyclists are forced to use the footpaths.
