I UNDERSTAND that the campaign by residents of Elm Low and High Roads, north of the A47 to try and prevent Norfolk and Cambridgeshire County Councils selling off their gardens, has caused some resentment among residents south of the A47 who have already purchased their gardens.
Could I just point out that the councils have handled the disposal of the Old Canal land differently this time.
Any and all offers to purchase our own individual plots since 1996 have been declined. The councils will only consider offers for the whole plot from the Co-Operative garage down to the bypass.
We are not trying to get something for nothing, we would have been happy to purchase if we had been allowed to.
We have been forced into doing research regarding "Squatters Rights" and it now appears that they are trying to sell us our gardens that we already own.
