I WRITE to congratulate the Mayor of Whittlesey and all those in the Whittlesey area who have been so generous in helping those who have lost loved ones and their homes in our tragic bushfires here in Australia.
I was most touched by this extraordinary act of generosity and I congratulate Councillor Steve Garrett on his most thoughtful and kind words of comfort when he appeared on Australian television recently.
How wonderful that the actions of sending food parcels to those of you in need, such a long time ago, has now come full circle.
I know many Australians have been truly touched by this warm act of friendship.
