AFTER 14 years of trading the shutters of the London Road Stores in London Road Chatteris are coming down for good.
The owner, a gentleman in the finest sense of the word and I believe of Indian descent, actually answers to the name of Mick, has finally admitted defeat, this decision caused by spiralling energy bills and council tax bills which make it no longer a viable business.
He actually said to me, he couldn't even give it away. Means another independent business stops trading in new labour's Great Britain.
