BRAKESPEARE expresses his support for the anti political correctness brigade. Perhaps he might enlighten us as to which particular minority groups he feels the need for freedom to make derogatory remarks about.
There are plenty to choose from: Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Blacks, Foreigners of every nation, homosexuals, women, mentally handicapped, to name a few.
I take comfort from knowing that some of the things respectable leaders of the Fenland community said to me thirty years ago are not now considered acceptable in decent company, so there has been progress.
Sadly while old hate groups pass from the radar new ones emerge. Nowadays it is Eastern Europeans, bankers, councillors, and Members of Parliament who can be condemned wholesale.
Brakespeare may be shocked to hear it but I have even heard journalists spoken of disrespectfully.
