It seems a long, long time ago, and forms part of my earliest memories - but I was a pupil at Norfolk House Preparatory School from 1951-54.
It was basically a lady's living room filled with desks and stuffed owls, where we were taught among other things, copperplate writing (from the age of five) and had to sit exams.
The lady teacher's name was Miss Pierce. I spent a fair amount of time standing in the corner. Biggest event of my time there was the Coronation.
The Mayor came round and presented everybody with a special pencil case.
I still have some of the original school reports.
