Mayor names best picture winner at Wisbech Camera Club exhibition

NEW Mayor of Wisbech Jonathan Farmer named Alan Waddington as the winner of the best picture award at Wisbech Camera Club’s 61st exhibition.

Councillor Farmer presented Mr Waddington with the trophy after choosing his monochrome picture of Wisbech Museum as his favourite.

The 61st annual exhibition - held by Mike and Di Burns - was opened by Cllr Farmer alongside the Wisbech Photographic Festival at Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House.

Cllr Farmer was accompanied by his Mayoress Susanah and fellow Councillors David Oliver and Samantha Hoy on his visit to the exhibition last week.

The photographic festival started with a town ‘past photographers’ walk led by Jo Murfit and included a historical talk on picture postcards by Mark Pardoe.
