LETTER writer Andrew McAdden should look back at local history, when I was a lad some 50 years ago, the majority of the fruit grown in the Wisbech area was harvested using imported labour.
Londoner's staying in bunk accommodation on local farms, and students stayed in the many student camps situated around Wisbech.
Many of the local workers picked fruit off their own allotments or small holdings.
