DODDINGTON: Upsett over coverage of show

REFERRING to Emma Weatherill's letter in last week's edition I would like to say that I agree wholeheartedly with her comments regarding your coverage of the Doddington Carnival.
Doddington, I feel, seems to be very much the poor relation when it comes to reporting events. I have never been in a village that is so community minded and that does so much for the people living here. From events that are held at Lionel Walden school, to the magnificent work done by the Christmas lights committee and of course the hard work done by everyone for the carnival. Where were the photos of the floats? You say there were photos on your website but not every one has access to the internet and after all I thought you were supposed to be a news PAPER, not a news website?
I sincerely hope that we will get better coverage on our Horticultural show being held tomorrow at our village hall.

IN response to the minimal coverage of the Doddington Carnival, I find your response an insult to the people of Doddington. The carnival float parade is the culmination of very hard work done, not only by the various groups in the village who enter a float, but by the carnival committee who start their organising in February and who do a thankless job on the day, and by the support of the residents of Doddington. To have such little coverage both in your paper and on your website did no justice to the event at all.

EDITOR'S NOTE: If any reader took photos of the floats and would care to email them to me, I will ensure they get published both in the paper and on our website.
And next year I promise we'll arrange our diary better for the day of the carnival.
