REGARDING the article about the four elderly residents in Wisbech who have tried to make their communal area warm and homely, and clean and tidy, that is a credit to them.
I would have thought they were more likely to slip and hurt themselves on a concrete floor, especially in wet weather, than a fitted carpet which would help to break a fall.
As for fire risk, I would have thought the wooden ceiling posed as much threat as a fitted carpet.
Also if Roddons are so worried about fire risk regulations, why is there no smoke alarm, no fire extinguisher and no fire blanket in the communal area?
