I REMAIN convinced the Fenland dike side roads must be made safer by installing physical measures to prevent vehicles entering the water.
In far too many places there is not so much as a kerb, or even a raised grass bank.
There are those who may argue that the cost is prohibitive but is this a valid argument considering the costs of attendance by police, ambulance, fire service and helicopters at crash scenes?
In any event, there is no figure that can be put upon the value of human life.
