Students from Wisbech and King's Lynn Tang Soo Do martial arts club travelled to Middlesbrough to represent their club in the 2023 World Tang Soo Do association Regional Championship.

The championship was held at the Eston Leisure Centre on Saturday, November 11 and there wer around 250 competitors in attendance.

Wisbech and King's Lynn students won a fantastic 19 trophies over three categories - weapons, forms and sparring.

"I'm so proud of all of my students, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to prepare for a competition like this one. Their hard work really has paid off, said Donna Harvey from the club.

"Also, I have to thank the dedicated parents who travel with the club to these events, not only in the UK events, but around Europe and even the USA.

"This was the last competition for 2023, we will have a well earned week off for the Christmas holidays and then focus our sights on the busy schedule for 2024. There’s always something to train for."

Extra special congratulations to Nakita Davies, who won first place in all three of her categories. This great achievement meant she qualified for the Grand champion Cup but she tied with another student who out ranked her.

Many of these students have now qualified to represent Great Britain at the World Championship held in Greensboro, North Carolina in USA in July 2024, which will be one of the club's area's of main training focus going forward.

Students train on a Monday evening at Lynn Sport and on a Thursday evening at Walton Highway Village Cub, in Wisbech.
