After a wait of almost three months, St Neots Town recorded only their second home victory of the current campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Corby Town.

A Brandon Njoku double was enough to set the Saints up for an impressive win, and if not for an outstanding display by visiting keeper Jason Alexander, the margin of defeat could have been much more emphatic.

St Neots displayed a degree of confidence and control not previously seen this season, and from the start, the Saints looked determined.

Njoku grabbed his first after nine minutes and a second after 21 minutes, both times taking advantage of the goalkeeper being forced to parry fierce shots by being well-positioned to swoop in and score.

Corby were then reduced to ten men in the second half, and despite the visitors mounting a late all-out attack, the St Neots defence never looked like being breached.

The visitors, sixth in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands table with only one away league defeat this season, were easily brushed aside.

St Neots, who sit in 19th place, visit Shepshed Dynamo in their next league fixture on December 3.
