A 1940s themed charity dance entitled In the mood for Christmas is being staged in Newmarket on Saturday, raising money for a special school in Cambridge.

Music for the evening will be provided by The Galaxy Big Band, and revellers are encouraged to dress up in style for the event held at the King Edward VII Memorial Hall.

The dance runs from 7.45pm to 11.30pm, and the £21 tickets include a sausage supper, with a seasonal crumble pudding. There will be a licensed bar and a raffle.
