Doddington sprinter Jonnie Peacock now holds all three international titles after dominating his rivals to win gold at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea.

The 21 year old Paralympic and World Champion clinched the 100m T44 in 11.26 secs.

German sprinter Felix Streng was second in 11.53 secs, with his compatriot Markus Rehm third in 11.85 secs.

With no T44 event at the Commonwealth Games, Swansea has been Peacock’s key focus this season.

The win was all the more impressive because he has had to recover from injuring his back at the beginning of the season, which meant he did not do any running until April.

Speaking after the race, he said: “I’m really pleased I could come here and execute the race.

“It is hard to stay focused when everyone says you are going to win but you don’t get a gold medal until you win the race.

“The headwind was strong and I made an error at about 60m but I was able to recover from that and it is really nice to now hold all three international titles.”
