Wisbech St Mary have parted company with the club’s under 18s manager, Gary Haime.

The news comes after Haime, who previously managed the club’s reserve side, had moved the club’s newly-formed side, Wisbech St Mary Saints, to play at Parson Drove with a view to becoming FC Parson Drove in the coming weeks.

A club statement said on Sunday (August 20): “The club would like to confirm that we have parted company with U18 manager Gary Haime with immediate effect by mutual consent.

“The club would like to put on record their thanks and appreciation to Gary for his hard work and dedication over the last three years to WSMFC’s U18s and we wish him well in his new venture.

“The U18s will be run by internal staff and coaches until a replacement is found.”

Haime, however, believes that his running of FC Parson Drove was behind his departure.

He said on Facebook: “The club felt due to me managing men’s football at Parson Drove there was a conflict of interests.

“I would never walk away from a group of players and I think my football management CV and success reflects this.

“I wish the players well and I am sure, if I do not already, I will work with many of them in the future.”
