Disappointment for Danny: Hedges beaten in championship semi-finals

BOXER Danny Hedges was beaten in the semi-finals of the Club’s for Young People National Championships on Saturday.

The 17-year-old, from March Amateur Boxing Club, was defeated by Mason Reilly in the under-50kg weight category.

Coach Dave Cole said: “Danny is obviously very disappointed but the guy he stepped in the ring with was a really good southpaw.”

Hedges will return to action next Friday at March ABC’s show at the Braza.

The club had two other boxers in action at the weekend in Basildon. Josh White, 16, beat Tony Ayres but Regan Lazenby, 13, lost on points to Billy Cooper.
