Police will be visiting outlets in the Wisbech area to record details of sellers and what property is being bought and sold.

Officers will also be attending car boot sales on the lookout for suspicious activity.

The move comes as part of a campaign to reduce the number of burglaries in the area.

Detective Sergeant Matt Swash said: “We are committed to tackling this type of crime and will use all tactics available to disrupt criminal activity.

“We want to make it harder for burglars to sell on stolen property and gain intelligence about people who might be involved in this type of offending.”

Anyone with any information about burglary in the Wisbech area should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
