Wisbech bed and breakfast going the extra mile for charity cycle

A Fenland bed and breakfast is doing its bit to help out a cyclist who will pedal 265 miles in two days to raise money for a hospice.

Father of two Henry Digby, 38, who was born in Ely but now lives in Cayton near Scarborough, will cycle from Cayton to London in aid of Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

He will set off in the early hours of June 20 and will stay overnight at the Langdale Bed and Breakfast in Lynn Road, Wisbech, which is putting him and his friend Dave Atkins up for free.

The following morning, the pair will get back on their bikes and complete their journey down to Westminister.

Mr Digby, who runs his own cycling business, will not have a lot of free time over the coming months - when he is not training he will be planning his wedding, which takes place next month.

He said: “I’m getting married before the cycle so things are a bit mad at the moment.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to Chrissy Smith and Mark Fearnley, the bed and breakfast owners, for kindly agreeing to put my friend and I up for the night.

“Hopefully this cycle will raise £5,000 for a great cause.”
