A Wisbech man has been charged with attempted robbery of a taxi driver at Morrisons supermarket in Wisbech.

Hamish Burrows-McGill, 24, of Station Drive, will appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court in April.

He has been charged with attempted robbery of Dart taxi driver Samuel Slater.

The alleged incident took place in the early hours after Burrows-McGill allegedly booked a cab to take him and friends back home from outside the Griffin pub in March.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said: “He is due to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Thursday April 5.”

The incident happened at about 1.10am on January 28.
