Poppy Kleiser cut the ribbon on the doorway of Emporium at Wisbech to mark the first day of trading at the town’s new store.

Owner Jeni Townsend has fulfilled a lifelong ambition to run the store in Market Place which stocks small upcycled furniture items, stationery and homeware.

Ms Townsend, who has sold art to the Towner Gallery in East Sussex, which comes under the umbrella of the Tate gallery groups, said: “I moved to the Fens last summer and love it here. I love the landscape, the Georgian architecture and the people.

“It’s a great time to start a business and an exciting venture for me.”
