Damage caused by collision in Chatteris

Police are looking for the driver of a red Volkswagen Golf who fled the scene of a collision with three parked vehicles – which was caught on CCTV

The collision took place on Sunday at about 7.30pm in Bridge Street, Chatteris.

The red convertible Golf collided with the first parked car, which then smashed into other parked cars.

A short time later, the driver of the Golf got out of the vehicle and walked down the road.

Nobody was in the parked cars and nobody was injured.

Resident David Johnson said: “Luckily no-one was walking past.”

A police spokesman said: “We were called at just before 7.30pm on Sunday.

“A car hit another parked car. Two further cars were damaged.

“We are still looking for the driver involved.”
