Abigail Miller, 12, beat her rivals with her rendition of Keane’s ballad, Somewhere Only We Know, to take the title trophy and £100.

The event was at Timbers Hotel in Fincham, near Downham Market, and those attending included former Eastenders actor Dean Gaffney and ITV choreographer and singer, Lemon.

The Cromwell Community College student has a passion for singing and has been encouraged to get involved with music by family friend and fellow Cromwell student

Holly Orridge, 14.

Abi said: “I have met so many inspirational people in the last few months and winning Norfolk’s Got Talent was the icing on the cake.

“It was a fantastic feeling when my name was read out. My friends and family have been amazing and so supportive of me.’

Abigail’s mum Sara, who works at March library, said: “Abi did really well at the event. I know it will boost her confidence.

“Without Holly encouraging her I’m not sure she would have entered the competition. “The pair is so into their singing. It is great listening to them.”

The girls are in Rock Band after school club and also practice by going to open mic sessions at The Boat public house in Whittlesey.

“Both love singing and the only reason Holly didn’t enter with her was because she was on a school trip to Belgium” said Mrs Miller.

Abi is to sing at the Circuit of the Fens event in Whittlesey at the end of the month.
